So, first of all, my apologies. Many of you had said how you've grown accustomed to starting your Friday fun with the most recent chapter of my adventures. Try as I could, I just had too much dang reality going on for me to get something posted this Friday.
Usually, I try to stay a few chapters ahead in my keyboarding for this very reason. Lately though, the life of my secret identity had been taking over. Not in a bad way. There's a certain satisfaction that comes from doing your job and doing it well. I'm also lucky enough to really enjoy what I do. Thing is, that didn't leave a lot of time of late for ol' Iggy to help you escape the world for a bit.
Anyway, a little late, but still in time for the weekend, here's the next chapter of "Revenge of the Squid Queen". I spent most of the morning keyboarding like crazy while listening to New Order's "The Perfect Kiss", via the music video directed by the great Jonathan Demme, a man who's work lives on, but who will be missed.
Also, I'm pretty well caffeinated, so I'm confident I'll be able to invest some time in getting ahead on the next few chunks.
A quick note on Admiral Fieske. Those of you who know me best will know the inspiration for this character, and I'll talk more about that in a future post. Suffice it to say, the real guy was one of my favorite people and someone to whom I owe a great debt. The character is drawn pretty much as if I'd cast my old friend directly into the movie in my head, which I did. You may mistake much of his dialogue as being laden with typos. Nope. All those are intentional as I try to portray my friends very think, and utterly unique accent. It is my sincere hope that I am able to honor him. In truth, I think my old pal would've made an exception submarine captain.
Keep the faith!
